This is a catalogue with a selection of 50 contemporary and ten classic women writers. A book to discover Catalan literature written by women, prose and poetry, classic and contemporary. A book to help getting to know and understanding Catalan literature and some of the women who have helped to create and construct it. Edited and produced by the Raig Verd publishing house in collaboration with the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana [Catalan Language Writers’ Association] and the sponsorship of Barcelona Literatura.
It is also a catalogue of works that can be translated into other languages, destined to the international projection of Catalan literature at fairs and festivals, and an entrance gate to the rest of Catalan literature and culture. The book is written in English, with the exception of the literary samples by each author, with the English translation and the original Catalan text.
This blogger wasn’t aware of the existence of this anthology until March 2020 when he stumbled on it while preparing a post on one of the writers featured there, Anna Ballbona [the post will be published on March 25]. He couldn’t find any information on the publisher Raig Verd’s pages… it might be out of print already.
